What is the SWITCH program and how do I apply?

SCE’s SWITCH program helps wildfire-impacted homeowners rebuild or repair using energy-efficient electric technologies. Eligible customers can receive incentives typically ranging from $100 to $2,400 per technology category.

* SCE My Account login required.

Who Qualifies

Eligible customers include:

  • Owners of single-family and some multifamily properties in the Eaton or Palisades fire perimeters — properties must be verified using official fire perimeter and damage assessment data. Single-family and multifamily properties must be individually owned (i.e., townhomes and condos).
  • Customers rebuilding or repairing — even if service isn’t active yet.
  • The property owner must submit the application through their sce.com/MyAccount profile. The SCE Service Account will need to be under the owner’s name. Separate applications may be required for each eligible property.
  • The property must have an associated SCE service account that was either:
    • Active when power was shut off due to the wildfire event
    • Active during the wildfire event
    • Currently active

Noneligible customers include:

  • Multifamily properties owned or managed by a management company, homeowners association or other nonindividual entity.
  • Renters and tenants.

How to Apply

You can apply in two ways:

  1. Apply Before You Buy:
Reserve funds for potential incentives during rebuilding.
  2. Apply After Installation:
Apply by submitting receipts and documentation.
Option When to Apply Key Benefit
Limitation
1 Before purchasing equipment
Helps secure available funding during the rebuilding process
A reservation sets aside funds, but does not guarantee payment or approval
2 After equipment is installed
SCE issues payment upon application approval
Equipment must meet program requirements

Applications are submitted through SCE My Account, and incentives are typically paid within 30 days after approval.

The program is available through 2028 or until funds are exhausted. Equipment must be purchased and installed on or after Aug. 1, 2026.

What Happens After I Submit My Application

If you apply before purchasing equipment, SCE will review your application and, if eligible, reserve available incentive funds. After your equipment is installed, you’ll submit your receipts and required documentation for final review. A reservation of funds does not guarantee payment approval.

If you apply after your equipment is installed, make sure to include your receipts and required documentation with your application. SCE will review your application and, if approved, issue your incentive payment.
