SCE Customers Can Get Up to $6,000 Off a Nissan LEAF

The cash-back offer for the utility’s residential customers makes it more affordable to drive electric.

Southern California Edison residential customers can drive electric for less — Nissan is offering up to $6,000 cash back on a 2020 LEAF or LEAF Plus.

The offer is available for 2020 LEAFs purchased from new dealer stock. The cash back is in addition to
SCE’s $1,000 Clean Fuel Reward and any available federal EV tax credit and California clean vehicle rebates.

Customers have until Jan. 4, 2021, or while vehicle supplies last, whichever comes first, to take advantage of the offer at participating Nissan dealerships. You can find a dealership near you using
Nissan’s dealer locator.

Incentive programs such as Nissan’s cash-back offer and the Clean Fuel Reward program help drivers make the switch to emissions-free driving. Drivers who go electric help reduce greenhouse gases and contribute to healthier, cleaner air for all Southern Californians.

They also save money on maintenance and lower fuel costs. Fueling an EV is equivalent to paying less than $2 per gallon of gasoline. SCE also has
different rate options to help customers save money. These plans may include special rates offering lower costs for charging during off-peak hours or at night. The Rate Assistant tool can help customers determine the best rate for them.

Making the switch from gasoline-fueled vehicles to EVs is critical to reducing greenhouse gas emissions and air pollution since in California transportation accounts for nearly 80% of the state’s air pollution and more than 40% of all GHG emissions.

SCE’s recent analysis,
Pathway 2045, concludes that 75% or 26 million of the cars on California’s roads will need to be electric by 2045 in order to meet the state’s clean energy and carbon-neutrality goals.
