Always be prepared for an earthquake. It’s critical that you have enough water and packaged food for each family member in your house for up to three days. You should also have a grab-and-go bag in your house and car that includes: a first-aid kit, working flashlight with extra batteries and a battery-powered radio.

If you see a downed power line, never approach or touch it or anything in contact with it and call 911 immediately. All critical care customers should also have a backup plan in case the power is out for an extended period of time. Please remember to also plan ahead for your pets during emergencies.

Here are some important steps to take during and after an earthquake.
