Ajay leads one of SCE’s most complex operating districts, overseeing safety, reliability, emergency response, customer service, workforce performance, compliance and critical field operations. His role requires balancing daily operational excellence with long-term strategic planning across construction, maintenance, restoration and community engagement. Ajay is recognized not only for effectively managing district operations but also for identifying enterprise challenges and developing scalable solutions that strengthen performance across Distribution Operations. He aligns crews, contractors and business partners around safe work practices, reliable service and customer-focused outcomes that support SCE’s mission.

He transforms operational challenges into lasting business improvements. During a major outage at the Olympic Substation in Beverly Hills, flooding made the substation unavailable and created an urgent need to restore service safely and quickly. Ajay worked closely with field crews to develop and implement an innovative temporary pole-top substation solution, coordinate with local businesses and maintain public safety while restoring power. He later identified an opportunity to align restoration activities with planned 4kV system upgrades, helping avoid unnecessary repair costs while accelerating needed infrastructure improvements. His most far-reaching contribution is his leadership in developing the Real-Time Distribution Reporting (RDR) tool in partnership with Palantir. Recognizing that leaders relied on information spread across more than 40 systems and reports, Ajay helped create a first-of-its-kind platform that consolidates outage, safety, compliance, fleet, emergency response and operational performance data into one view. The tool gives district leaders timely visibility to make faster decisions, manage resources effectively, strengthen safety oversight and improve execution. Already supporting districts beyond Santa Monica, RDR has the potential to transform operational leadership across the organization.

Ajay also exemplifies Edison’s values through accountability, collaboration, integrity and continuous improvement. He embeds safety into both field operations and business processes, uses data to proactively identify risks, and earns trust through transparent decision-making and consistent follow-through. Equally important, he develops employees, builds strong partnerships and creates an environment where people feel valued and supported. Whether leading complex customer discussions, supporting employees through difficult circumstances or coordinating emergency response, Ajay demonstrates empathy, professionalism and respect. Through innovative problem-solving, operational excellence and a steadfast commitment to people, Ajay has delivered measurable improvements in safety, reliability, customer service and workforce performance while helping shape the future of Distribution Operations across SCE.
